My Mission:

Support, assist, teach, and empower mothers with the gift of nurturing their children thorough breastfeeding.

My Story:

My name is star and I’m a private practice lactation consultant with over 20 years of clinical experience assisting breastfeeding families. I am also the Program Coordinator of lactation services at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka.

I earned my BA in Spanish In 1982 and went on to become a Registered Nurse working exclusively in Obstetrics.  In 1991 my only son was born via IVF and my passion, my right lively-hood, for breastfeeding blossomed.

I have been a Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1996 and am one of the longest practicing lactation consultants in Humboldt County. I do home and hospital consults, rent breast pumps and scales, teach classes, facilitate support groups and on-line chat groups and do public speaking

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse Obstetrics since 1986

  • Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1996. 

  • Clinical Coordinator of Lactation Services at St. Joseph Hospital, Eureka

  • CPR certified

  • Neonatal resuscitation certified

  • BA in Spanish 1982
